Accuquilt GO!

So I bought an Accuquilt GO! cutter. Yay!  I also purchased a variety of dies including the tumbler, hexagon, apple core,  and rag square.  I also have the die that comes with the machine.

With a small child I'm always looking for ways to cut down on time.  Since cutting out fabric is my least favourite thing to do, this machine is perfect for me.  Like with a lot of other gadgets out there, you purchase the machine then have to buy so much extra stuff just to use the machine.   I do have a lot more dies on my wish list.  Using it is very easy and the cranking arm turns easily.  I've tried the tumbler and apple core (quilt kits are in my etsy shop).  There is a lot of wasted fabric, but even cutting it out the traditional way would yield the same results.

So I went to the fabric store, I shop at Marshall Fabric on Barry in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  It is by no means fancy and the little quilt shops are much cuter, but a girls got to eat.  This place has a wide variety and is reasonably priced.  I will in the future be purchasing more fabrics online, I find that you can search out much better deals of designer fabrics.

Here's a couple kits I put together.  The apple core quilts are traditionally a nightmare to cut out so this machine really does the work for you.  It also cuts little tabs in the fabric so you can line the curves up perfectly.  Coming up in my blog I will put one together to see how it goes.
