Fabric Panel One Block Wonder Progress

So I cut up my fabric panel quite a few months ago and have put it off to the side while finishing renovations and such.  Since my house is now somewhat put back together I thought I would take out all my endless triangles and start sewing.  Sewing is my time to relax and think.  It also is a great creative outlet.  I have so many quilts on the go and piles of fabric it can sometimes be overwhelming, I have to remember it's just a hobby.  I sat for a few nights and sewed all the triangles in groups of threes.  You have to be careful to keep your two sets of three together.  With this particular obw quilt the hexagons are all so different if they got jumbled it was easy to find the pairs.

Once all my sets of threes where sewn I set up a design wall in my sewing room.  I just pinned a flannel flat sheet to the wall.  I am so happy to finally have a dedicated craft room where I can leave a big ugly sheet pinned to the wall and not worry about it.  Once you start putting up your pieces it's amazing how beautiful your quilt can be.  Although I started out with a nice panel it's not as cool as the quilt it's turning into.  I was really worried about the quilt being ugly actually and upset that I was spending all this time for something not that great, but it actually blew my expectations out of the water.  Now I am just frustrated cause I can't get the quilt lay out just right... Here's a few of my attempts.  I think my problem is that it is just not big enough to get the full effect, and I don't have any more fabric.  I'll just have to tinker with it till I get it to my liking :)
