Catnap Twin Quilt

I was very excited for a new project that came my way.  A lady on ETSY contacted me to make her daughter a twin quilt for her new "big girl bed". She picked out the fabric and pattern and I got to work.

She chose a new line of fabric by Lizzie House called Catnap.  I ordered the fabric from www.pinkcastlefabrics.com  This was the first time I ordered from this website.  I was mostly satisfied with my purchase.  The fabric comes precisely cut with 1/4" extra.  They forgot to send one item but promptly sent it out which I was happy about.  I will definitely buy from them again.  Also a note for Canadian buyers their shipping is quite reasonable along with their prices.

The customer chose a beautiful quilt pattern she saw here.  It is a simple design with a nice added touch of a flap border piece.  She also wanted a chevron strip on the back for a little something extra.

This is a good beginner quilt for people looking for an easy project.  I cut my rectangles 5 1/2" x 8" which gave me 15" x 15" square blocks once the 6 rectangles where sewn together. The quilt ended up being 70" x 85".

I had fun with topstitching using a loopy butterfly pattern in the middle, a loopy point to point on the border with cats in the corners.  I am very happy with how it turned out.
