ABC Menagerie Charm Pack Baby Triangle Quilts

Very excited to work on two new baby quilts.  Part of my www.fabric.com order was these cute ABC Menagerie charm packs.

I decided to separate the more girly fabrics from the boyish fabrics to create a girl quilt and a boy quilt.

I saw this pattern on a great quilting blog Must Love Quilts (it's an awesome tutorial) and I wondered if I could get 2 equilateral triangles out of each charm square.  It's a little work but I did it and they can add 2 - 4 1/4" equilateral triangles to their cutting chart on the back of the charm pack.

You don't have to worry about the cut off corners because those fall into the seam allowances.

For the girl quilt I used the Must Love Quilts pattern. I love the cute heart in the corner.  The quilt ended up being around 39" x 39".  I love adding a solid color fabric to my charm pack to make it go further.  In my case I used a variety of white on white fabrics.

For the boy quilt I decided just to do a miscellaneous pattern.  The triangles are kind of tedious to sew but have a nice effect.  I'm very happy with the way they turned out.

I'm excited to go top stitch them, I have a great ABC, 123 pattern I think will look great!

Hit the JACKPOT at Fabric.com

Got my www.fabric.com order and got a few surprises inside, good surprises :) A long with loving the fabric I hit the "JACKPOT" 6 times!  I didn't even know they did this but if you get the end of the bolt you get extra fabric!  My half yards I ordered were more like full yards or more!!!  What a great surprise!  This gorgeous fabric is going to turn into baby blankets, quillows, pillow covers, and a quilt or 2.
